HMS PRESIDENT (HMS Buzzard) was a Nymphe-class composite screw sloop and the fourth ship of the Royal Navy to bear the name. Developed and constructed for the Royal Navy on a design by William Henry White, Director of Naval Construction, she was launched at Sheerness Dockyard on 10 May 1887. In 1904 she was converted to a drill ship for the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve at Blackfriars, London, and in 1911 Buzzard relieved HMS President as Headquarters ship, being renamed HMS President on 1 April 1911

HMS ARGONAUT was a ship of the Diadem-class of protected cruiser in the Royal Navy. She was built by Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Company, Govan and launched on 24 January 1898. During the First World War she was part of the 9th Cruiser Squadron, operating in the Atlantic. In 1915 she was converted to a hospital ship in Portsmouth and in 1918, to an accommodation ship. She was sold to Ward of Milford Haven on 18 May 1920 and arrived there for breaking up on 4 September 1921

HMS KING ALFRED was a 14,100-ton Drake-class armoured cruiser of the Royal Navy. She was built by Vickers Limited at Barrow-in-Furness and launched on 28 October 1901. During the 1st World War she was part of the 6th Cruiser Squadron Grand Fleet. In October 1915 she joined the 9th Cruiser Squadron Atlantic, in 1917 on the North America and West Indies Station mainly as a convoy escort. On 11 April 1918 Struck a mine (or possibly a torpedo) at Loch Swilly and was beached and later repaired but never entered active service again. 1920 Sold for scrap.
